Introduction

One aspect of any Construction Project that never changes is the overwhelming amount of documents containing precious information trailing between all participants. Controlling these documents is a real challenge since a systematic, preplanned approach to document preparation, identification, review, approval, distribution, availability and distribution from the beginning of the project is required to manage this complex task, lest it may lead to potential claims.

A document typically means anything that contain information, which is exactly applicable to a Project. Documents are not necessarily always in the form of paper. In this electronic era, it could be electronic data, or even physical objects like materials.
